IACS 2019 BLUE BOOK LAUNCHED, ACCOMPANIED BY THE CONSTANTLY UPDATED IACS GREEN BOOK

The International Association of Classification Societies is pleased to announce the release of the Jan 2019 edition of the IACS Blue Book and the accompanying IACS Green Book. Together these publications summarise the technical output of IACS and, as such, continue to demonstrate IACS’ technical support to the shipping industry through our work and investment in technology, innovation, research and development both at the classification and statutory levels.

IACS PARTICIPATION AT NCSR 6

In demonstrating its ongoing commitment to support the work of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), IACS will attend the next meeting of the IMO’s Sub-Committee on Navigation, Communications and Search and Rescue (NCSR 6) that will meet from Wednesday, 16 to Friday, 25 January 2019. IACS in its role as the IMO’s principal technical advisor will contribute to the discussions at NCSR 6; informing and facilitating the decisions that will be taken by the Member States.

IACS Council 78 Press Release

The IACS Council held its 78th session (C78) in London last week where Cyber Safety, Quality and the Environment featured prominently in discussions. Coming immediately after the 100th session of the IMO’s Maritime Safety Committee, C78 also responded to decisions made at that meeting by agreeing to update its high-level policy paper on Fuel Oil Safety Considerations and immediately initiating next steps with regards to the newly established International Quality Assessment Review Board (IQARB).
